Listen, I’m no Bay Area mascot or spokesperson, but rather, I am a homegrown Bay Arean. I was born, bred and given the gift of gab (dialect/lingo/language/slang/vernacular) via the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m from here and of here. Although I’ve moved away several times, I currently reside here. With all that being said, I figured since Bay Areans are well known for their twist and way with words, I’d share some common definitions with you in case you’re ever in town and at a loss when someone says, “I’m hella hungry,” and you’re not sure if they are cussing at you or not. (BTW, they’re not).
Disclaimer: These are purely subjective, meaning, some of my fellow Bay Areans may completely disagree with my definitions therefore proceed and speak with caution.
